Rome, Day 1

This morning we took the train from Venice to Rome, and it was beautiful! Trains are so much better than buses; I’m determined to take them as much as possible in the future.

Once we got settled in, we went straight to the Colosseum.

From here we took a tour of Palantine Hill.

And then my mom took a break while I wandered around the Forum.

That afternoon we did a walking tour. The tour turned out to be really great, as it was just my mom and myself, and another mother-daughter duo.

We actually enjoyed the other mom and daughter’s company so much that we all got dinner together after the tour.  Then mom and I explored the Trastevere neighbourhood, where our hostel was located.
